Here in Room 31 we like to have fun and what better than designing and playing your own arcade!
Inspired by this short film... http://cainesarcade.com/
We created our own, by brainstorming, designing, and then building. We also prepared 'net drawings' of our creations so that anyone could come and create our work.
Here are some pics...
I think that the people who run this event (in Pittsburgh, unfortunately) would love the idea of our arcades. One link is to the event's website, and the other is to a page with some more info on the page.

I have posted our arcades on google+, where people all over the world can look at our arcades. I haven't gotten any responses yet. But the hardest thing in making my arcade was cutting thick cardboard. :)
ReplyDeleteThis comment is by Neha. Don't know why it said unknown
Deletefor mine i sent it to cainesarcade.com because thats where we got the idea from. He is raising money for him to go to college and become an engineer. No response yet.The hardest thing was getting the crossbow to actually pop the balloons.
ReplyDeleteI did the same as jack and emailed cainesarcade.com about our arcade. No response yet The most challenging thing for me was painting multiple layers and making the ping-pong gun work
ReplyDeletesays unknown but its me Jakub :)
DeleteI have posted it on Instagram and Facebook and I haven't got any response yet and the hardest thing was making the balls roll down the ramp
ReplyDeleteI did the same as Jack and Jakub and I haven't got a reply either. The hardest thing I found was trying to put it together without the pieces breaking and making a mess
ReplyDeletei went to cainesarcade.com as well. the hardest thing was probably attatching the cups to the cardboard.
ReplyDeleteI went to http://www.handmadearcade.com/ and the people there would probably be interested. but unfortunately I think there in america. I found painting the hardest because the paint smelt discusting
ReplyDeleteI sent it to the New Zealand Herald, but i have not heard back from them yet.I think the hardest thing was choosing what to do, it took for ever.
ReplyDeletei posted it on instagram and am still waiting on comments etc, the hardest part for me was the factcthat i was absent for quite a lot of the time we were making so it made it harder to finish on time
ReplyDeleteThis is poppy
ReplyDeleteI put my arcade on instructables but haven't got any response.
My hardest part was finding a way to stand the pinball tubes up.
I also posted it on Caines arcade and i'm still waiting on replies. The hardest part was actually coming up with something to make
ReplyDeleteI emailed nz herald. The hardest part was not being able to help when i was sick.
